We pride ourselves in the fact that once someone has made their home in Helping Hands, they will never need to leave due to an increase in care needs or deteriorating health. Helping Hands Personal Care Home has a variety of services in place to ensure that our residents can live comfortably, secure in the knowledge that all their needs will be met, and that another traumatizing move need not be in their future now that our<\/i> home has become their<\/i> home.

Many medical professionals attend Helping Hands Personal Care Homes in all of our communities.
When possible, an in-house Physician\u00a0or Nurse Practitioner comes to\u00a0Helping Hands and visits those residents who wish to transfer their care to them.\u00a0 This is a very welcome service to residents with families who live out of town or have busy lives, as there is no need for multiple trips out to see a doctor when there is a concern. It also allows us to be proactive with our residents\u2019 health, as our health professionals visit regularly every 1-2 weeks (or more often if necessary) and see each resident on every visit, rather than residents waiting until they have a bothersome complaint before they seek medical attention.\u00a0 Our in-house medical professionals take the time to get to know each resident, and are knowledgeable, caring, and have excellent bedside manners.\u00a0 We strive for our in-house practitioners to never be in a hurry, and to always have time to discuss their patients\u2019 concerns and care, as well as make friendly conversation.<\/p>\n

Our staff can arrange, provide transportation and accompaniment to appointments for your loved one when it isn’t convenient to take them yourself.\u00a0\u00a0When neither in-house physician services, nor you,\u00a0 are available, contact us to inquire about Helping Hands Bridging Program.<\/a><\/p>\n

Personalized Care Plans<\/h3>\n

In addition to personalized care plans which ensure each resident gets the care they need, we strive to offer the following services to meet the requirements of our residents who have specialized needs.<\/p>\n

– Helping Hands’ Owner\/Operator is a Licensed Practical Nurse
– Registered Nurse on staff as required
– Special Care Aides on staff as required
– Physician Visits as arranged with residents\u2019 personal physicians
– Staff trained in Personal Care and Dementia Care
– Sask Health Authority services in place as needed
– Physical therapy
– Laboratory services
– Occupational therapy
– Assessment services
– Home care nursing services
– Palliative home care services<\/p>\n

Each above service is dependent on its availability through Helping Hands and\/or through the Saskatchewan Health Authority in your community.\u00a0 Often, if needed, private health professionals can also be sourced by our resourceful team at Helping Hands.<\/p>\n
